In Santa Fe, the provincial capital, a pack of three dogs attacked a poultry farm. The dogs entered the farm through a hole in the fence, tore through protective tarps, and indiscriminately attacked the birds. The attack resulted in the death of approximately 2,000 chickens, with another 1,000 injured. The owner, Ariel Carnevale, stated that the injured birds are unlikely to survive. Carnevale claimed the dogs belong to a neighbor, whom he has previously reported for similar incidents. He mentioned that the neighbor had signed a commitment in May 2024 to control her animals, but the episodes recurred. Beyond the emotional impact, Carnevale highlighted the significant financial losses, including 3,000 kg of meat, feed, electricity, and labor. As per the prosecutor's order, the Ecological Brigade, along with a police veterinarian, has been called in to conduct the necessary investigation.
